Late last year, the Massachusetts Sentencing Commission approved a major and historic overhaul to the Sentencing Guidelines (effective November 24, 2017).
Among the stated goals of using the Guidelines are to “promote greater uniformity in sentencing” and to “hold judges more accountable in sentencing.”
You will not only learn the underlying structure and philosophy of the empirical, evidence-based Guidelines, but also be advised how to fashion sentencing recommendations tailored to your case based on a diagnostic “Sentencing Guidelines Grid.”
