How to Enable Cookies

To access the Social Law Library databases you must enable cookies. Follow the instructions below for the browser version you are using. 

Chrome

Firefox

Internet Explorer

Safari



CHROME

Chrome Versions 3-9

  • Click the "Spanner" icon in the top right of the browser window.
  • Click Options.

  • Change to the "Under the Hood" tab.
  • Scroll down until you see "Cookie settings."
  • Set this to "Allow all cookies."


Chrome Versions 10-22

  • Click the "Spanner" icon in the top right of the browser window.
  • Click Options.
  • On the left side of the browser window click "Under the Hood"
  • In the section entitled "Privacy" click the button "Content settings..."
  • In the section entitled "Cookies" select the option "Allow local data to be set




Chrome Versions 23 and Newer

  • Click the icon depicting three horizontal lines in the top-right corner.
  • Click Settings.



  • Click Show advanced settings... at the bottom of the page
  • In the section entitled "Privacy" click the button Content settings...
  • In the section entitled "Cookies" select the option Allow local data to be set


FIREFOX

Firefox Version 4

  • Go to Firefox's menu bar.
  • Click on Tools, then Options.
  • Under Privacy, check Accept cookies from sites. 
  • Click OK.
  • Click the Back button on your browser, then click the Reload button.


Firefox Version 15

  • From the Firefox menu on the top left, select the Options.
  • Click the Privacy tab.



  • From the Firefox will drop-down, select the Use custom settings for history.
  • Tick the Accept cookies from sites and Accept third-party cookies check-boxes.
  • Click OK. 




Firefox Version 29

  • Click the menu button  and select options. 
  • Select the privacy panel. 
  • Set Firefox will: to Use custom settings for history.
  • Check mark Accept cookies from sites to enable Cookies




INTERNET EXPLORER

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x

  • Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
  • Click on the "Privacy" tab.
  • Click the "Default" button (or manually slide the bar down to "Medium") under "Settings."
  • Click "OK."



Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and 8

  • Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
  • Click on the "Privacy" tab.
  • Click the "Advanced" button.
  • Check the "Override automatic cookie handling" box.
  • Under First-party Cookies, select "Accept."
  • Under Third-party Cookies, select "Accept."
  • Check the box "Always allow session cookies."
  • Click "OK."


Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 and 10 

  • Click on the Tools icon on the very right at the top and then on Internet Options.
  • At the top switch to the tab Privacy and click on the Advanced button. 



  • Select Allow First-Party Cookies and enable Session Cookies.





SAFARI

  • Click Safari in the menu bar.
  • Click Preferences.
  • Click the Security icon.
  • Under Accept cookies select Only from sites I visit.
  • Close the Preferences window.
